Final EAN Report on Funding released
TOWARDS A FRAMEWORK FOR SUSTAINABLE, EQUITABLE AND RESPONSIBLE FUNDING OF ELDERLY CARE IN THE EUROPEAN UNION
The report is the outcome of more than a year and a half of work by the EAN Funding Working Group, which focused on how to ensure sustainable and adequate funding for elderly care in the context of an ageing population and growing demand for care, support and suitable housing.
It explores the possibilities of combining public and private funding, outlines key principles and preconditions for such approaches, and presents examples of funding models used in different European countries. The report draws on expert discussions within the working group as well as the experiences shared by EAN members.
The publication serves as a practical resource for EAN members and supports dialogue with national and European stakeholders on the future of funding elderly care.
